HELLO GANG,
MY NAME IS GARY LEE AND I AM THE OWNER/OPERATOR OF KHIT 107 RADIO AND NO SPEED LIMIT PRODUCTIONS, AND WHAT YOU ARE HEARING IS THE SOUND OF SUPER 80'S KHIT 107.
KHIT 107 IS A VERY LOOSE TRIBUTE TO KHIT 107 FM THAT WAS ON THE AIR IN SEATTLE FROM 1983-1987.
NOW FOR A LITTLE BACKSTORY.
K-HIT 107 WAS STARTED BACK IN 2006 WITH A PRETTY GOOD MUSIC LIBRARY, A G5 MACINTOSH COMUPTER, A COUPLE OF CD PLAYERS, 1 VERY SKETCHY CASSETTE DECK, A ROSS STEREO DISCO MIXER, A NADY MICROPHONE, A YAMAHA TURNTABLE WITH A SLIPPERY BELT, AND A SOMEWHAT TEMPERMENTAL BROADBAND CONNECTION. CONNECTING TO A SHOUTCAST SERVER WITH A MAC WAS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE SO I HAD TO USE THE MAC AS A SERVER AND ONLY HAD THE ABILITY TO HAVE 3 LISTENERS CONNECT AT ONCE AT A VERY LOW BIT RATE WITHOUT THE MAC CRASHING. THERE WERE NO MUSIC MANAGEMENT OR AUTOMATION PROGRAMS FOR THE MAC EXCEPT iTUNES.
NOT LONG AFTER WE PUT OUR STREAM ON THE AIR, 2 WONDERFUL NEW PROGRAMS CAME OUT FOR THE MAC THAT MADE BROADCASTING MUCH LESS OF A CHALLENGE. MEGASEG AND NICECAST, BOTH PROGRAMS ARE STILL IN USE HERE TODAY AND THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER. MEGASEG IS A DJ/RADIOSTATION AUTOMATION PROGRAM THAT HELPS KEEP KHIT 107 ON THE AIR 24/7. NICECAST IS A VERY EASY WAY TO GET THAT AUDIO OUT TO OUR SHOUTCAST HOSTING COMPANY.
TODAY K-HIT 107 IS IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE EQUIPMENT WISE. WE HAVE OUR OWN DEDICATED STUDIO SPACE, A FANTASTIC ARRAKIS NOVA 10-C MIXING CONSOLE. DUAL CD PLAYERS, MINI -DISC RECORDER/PLAYER. A FANTASTIC SHURE CLASSIC MICROPHONE. A DEDICATED IMAC ON AIR COMPUTER, STANTON TURNTABLE AND A MUCH LARGER MUSIC LIBRARY THAT IS GROWING ALL THE TIME.
OUR NEW MUSIC FORMAT IS A "SUPER 80'S" FORMAT. SUPER 80'S MEANS THAT THE CLASSIC TOP 40 MUSIC THAT KHIT PLAYED WHILE ON AIR IS IN BACK, PLUS TONS OF GREAT NEW WAVE MUSIC, A BIT OF 80'S ROCKERS, SOME CLASSIC 80'S R&B, 80'S DANCE TRACKS, EXTENDED 12" MIXES AND SOME GREAT 80'S MEGAMIXES. EVEN SOME CLASSIC DANCE TUNES FROM THE 70'S THROWN IN FOR FUN. AND A FEW "SUPER 70'S" POP/ROCK CLASSICS TO KEEP THINGS INTERESTING.
K-HIT 107 IS ONLINE AS A TRIBUE TO A GREAT RADIO STATION. AS SUCH WE DON'T PLAY ANY COMMERCIALS AND BROADCAST STRICTLY FOR FUN. THERE IS NO PROFIT INVOLVED IN THE OPERATION OF THIS STATION.

And most of all of your genuine surprise when you found out that there was some fool out there that wanted to do a tribute station to KHIT 107FM. It just wouldn't have been like the KHIT of old without your help.
